DKIM, SPF, and DMARC

At Hostcamp, we highly value the privacy and security of our clients. In today's world, where email communication is a fundamental part of business, it's essential to protect against threats like spam, phishing, and man-in-the-middle attacks. For this purpose, we implement the latest email authentication standards: DKIM, SPF, and DMARC. These technologies comply with European legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), enhancing trust and security in the digital environment.

DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM)

DKIM allows the receiver to check that an email claimed to have come from a specific domain was indeed authorized by the owner of that domain and that the message content has not been changed during transit. This is done using a digital signature attached to the email message. Proper DKIM configuration prevents attackers from impersonating your domain when sending emails.

Sender Policy Framework (SPF)

SPF allows domain owners to specify which email servers are allowed to send emails on behalf of their domain. When a receiving server gets an email, it can check the SPF record to verify that the email comes from an authorized source. Correct SPF setup significantly reduces the risk of your domain being used for spam and phishing.

Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC)

DMARC is a policy and reporting protocol that uses SPF and DKIM to authenticate email messages. DMARC allows domain owners to decide what happens to emails that fail the authentication test. For instance, you can choose whether such emails should be rejected or whether to send a report about them. DMARC also provides a feedback mechanism that lets you see who is sending emails on behalf of your domain.

Manage in cPanel

DKIM and SPF: Log in to cPanel and look for the "Email" section. Click on "Authentication" or "Email Authentication". Here, you can enable DKIM and SPF for your domain with a single click.

DMARC: To set up DMARC, you need to add a corresponding TXT record to your domain's DNS settings. This can be done in the "Zone Editor" section of your cPanel.
